In launching The Library Effect in January 2014, Shannon employed compelling editorial content and bold visuals to help tell the stories about how libraries and librarians impact society in a positive way. Often these topics can feel formal or are loaded with jargon. The Library Effect shows, instead of tells, what the general public cares about in relation to libraries, archives and access to information.
The first issue featured articles on a variety of topics written by librarians from the United States and Europe who volunteered their time and thinking. The second issue will be published in 2015 and will focus on topics related to the digital humanities.
